Friday, May 2, at BIQ Check-in for Friday will be between 8 and 9am, with a continental breakast. Lunch on Friday will also be with the Conference. In keeping with the theme of the weekend, a major focus of our discussions will deal with the notions of curriculum for social and emotional issues. In the morning, the plan is to explore the notion itself - is express inclusion of this matter appropriate, worth doing, within the job of schools, etc.? In the afternoon, we will go more deeply into the practicalities of it: Is it doable? Does it need separate coursework or is inclusion enough? How do we determine effectiveness? These and many more questions will be explored. As ever, the issues of underachievement, perfectionism, and acceleration will never be far away. Join our keynote, Sue Jackson, along with several other presenters in these intense sessions! Because of the design and size of our Friday programming, we tend to do a fair amount of individualization for the educators who join us. Let us know your interests. |
